Kathy Thomson was raised in Ontario and moved to Vancouver Island in the 1980's. Her appreciation and respect for nature turned to inspiration upon seeing the West Coast. This influence can be seen in many of her works.
Kathy is a versatile artist and has worked in many mediums including watercolours, pen and ink, coloured pencil and acrylics as well as mural painting and trompe l'oeil. The age old medium of etching, which Kathy uses to produce, images which reflect her love of nature. The value of Kathy's art, both monetarily and through the personal pleasure of owning a fine piece of art, have increased steadily. Her art is collected throughout North America and Asia, both privately and commercially. Thomson has built her reputation with original work combining realism and simplicity in her own unique personal style. Kathy's commitment to accuracy and authenticity is visible in her art.
