Born in Trois-Rivières on September 2, 1971. Daniel Sarazin was very interested in drawing from his early childhood. He discovered painting around the age of 15 and became fascinated by color and its multiples possibilities.
Daniel is a self-taught painter. He devoted himself first to the landscape and little by little he realized that light is the key to his paintings. The vibrant figures so commonly seen today in his work had, at this point, found few places on his canvases. It was a turning point when these figures suddenly invaded his painting, almost to the point of overflow. Having left oils for acrylic paint, Sarazin found this medium more spontaneous and strive to avoid all art forms that lack life.
To this matter, he writes:
"Painting offers me what is most fantastic in life: moments of discovery, surprise and reflection. It has become my rite of passage to a world where everything can be recreated through one's knowledge, emotions, beliefs. It lets me express my feelings, participate in today's world."
