Artist Statement
Painting like music transcends all boundaries without translation. All those that choose to see read its communication. To paint is to make a record of something, to capture a fleeting moment in time with a single brushstroke or expand that unit into a mathematical figurehead measured in hours and days. Inspiration and challenge goes with the artist onto the canvas and out to the audience. To step off the ever beaten path can be the will of the painter. With the attempt of that pursuit, like education it becomes an enlightening goal whose energy can come from a source that is reflected outward from an infinite place.

By definition infinity is pretty difficult to measure. The artist with his license can attempt that riddle but this yardstick cannot span its breadth though you do see so many that come close. Color, Form, Symbol, Pattern, Imitation, Velocity, Absorption, Evolution, Time, are all the tools of a trade that dates back to the beginnings of memory.

These ancient memories that created Myth and Magic are fundamental to our most basic being as a species. And as fast as we attempt to measure such things, artists find ways to step between the lines and recreate our perspectives. This everlasting movement is the joie de vivre in our daily lives for which we are continually questioned and challenged.
