Hyun-Jeong Bok is a wood-cut print maker, She uses wood, oil colours, papers, rollers and carving tools to complete her work. Using oils rather than inks are typically used in printing, she builds a rich texture to display her designs in 3-D. It takes eight to ten layers and roughly two and a half months to finish one of her creations using a very complicated process.

She begins by sketching, then carving her design in reverse image on wood. Bok the presses the design into a thick layer of oil paint which has had the oil separated from the pigment by a simple process. Each layer takes a week or more to dry before selected areas are removed in order that coloration from subsequent layers would fill the voids. Eventually, the final image begins to appear as the art is completed, layer by tedious layer.
